We Support Local Farmers

There has been a radical change in farming over the last 90 years. Family owned farms in the early 20th century supplied all of our meat. Now, corporate farms supply nearly all the meat in supermarkets. This transition has completely changed our food supply. Corporate farms use steroids and antibiotics to increase meat quantity; they cram cattle into massive feed lots, where diseases can spread easily among the animals and their quality of life is unpleasant, as well as, contributing large quantities of waste into our environment. If you buy your meat in a chain grocery store or a big box retailer, you are most likely buying meat that has been produced on a corporate farm.

The Meating Place is dedicated to supporting local farmers focusing on proteins from Eat Oregon First and Laney Family Farms, Carlton Farms, Cattail Creek Farms, and Painted Hills.
