Built for the Way Dogs Digest

Unlike humans, dogs have a short, acidic digestive system, allowing them to process salmonella and E. coli on raw food if it's present. But we still recommend some common-sense precautions.

  • Use non-porous dog bowls. Stainless steel is preferred over plastic, which can house bacteria in scratched areas.
  • Use good hygiene while portioning out the food, and wash your hands afterward.
  • If you have a small child who could get into the dog's bowl, be mindful of that too.

PRICING

$5

PER POUND

Our raw dog food costs more than processed kibble but we think you're really getting what you pay for, with no mechanically separated meat products and no fillers.

Some customers use our raw dog food as a topping or treat alongside dry kibble to moderate cost if a fully raw diet isn't in the budget. We've found that the added food costs balance out in the long run with a healthier pet, with fewer trips to the vet and fewer spendy dental bills.

Dogs are family members too, and helping them live better is 100% worth it in our minds!

STORAGE

Portioned Out & Frozen

We store our raw dog food frozen in one or two-pound chubs. Just defrost for one to two days in your fridge before feeding your pup. Store any uneaten food covered in the fridge, as you would with other raw meat.

Good Questions

How do I make the switch to all raw?

Top two ways:

1. Incorporate a small scoop of raw dog food with their kibble. Gradually increase the raw and phase out the dry kibble entirely.

2. Let your dog miss a meal, then offer a small scoop of raw dog food. Increase the amount of raw food at each feeding until you are feeding 1.5-2.5% of their weight.

How much raw food is right for my dog?

1.5-2.5% of your dog’s weight (daily) is best practice. If your dog is very active, increase this amount up to 5% of their weight. For reference, a 50-pound dog needs ¾-1 ¼ pounds of raw dog food every day, or 2 ½ pounds if very active. A 100-pound dog needs 1 ½-2 ½ pounds, or 5 pounds if very active.

How often should I feed my dog on a raw diet?

As with kibble, most people feed their dogs twice daily on raw food, once in the morning and once in the evening. If your dog is used to eating once daily and does not experience bloat or other issues, it’s fine to continue that cadence.
