Local meat, local farms, local focus. And now, a local race! Not just any race: The Mother of All Relays. We’re happy to be a sponsor of this year’s Hood to Coast Relay, an epic race from the top of Mt. Hood all the way to the ocean in Seaside. The full race is 196 miles (or 128 from Portland to the coast) and draws participants from all 50 states and 40 countries too.
Since The Meating Place is conveniently located just off Highway 26 in Hillsboro on many participants’ route home or to the airport, we thought it would be a great partnership. Hungry runners can stop by and replenish their hard-spent calories with our house-made jerky and pepperoni or grab a steak for a homecoming dinner celebration for local racers (or those with kitchens in their AirBnBs!).
We are also a sponsor of the Hillsboro Hops just next door, and love being a part of local sports and entertainment. We are privileged to live in a place with fantastic outdoor recreation opportunities as well as farmland that brings high-quality meats to the table. A perfect balance, we say.
